Pleated Blinds

Pleated blinds are the improvement of  the more conservative venetian blind. Folded fabric is used in case of pleated blinds instead of the horizontal slat that is used in case of the venetian blinds. Folded fabric allows  more  filtered lighting and hence gaining popularity.

Pleated blinds are more attractive, more functional and also are attractive.  They control the sunlight and the heat that should be allowed into the room. Every blind is required to hold some kind of arrangement to control the opening of the slats.  In case of pleated blinds also the disguised cord system helps to regulate the opening as per requirement.

Pleated blinds are made from many materials depending upon the light requirement of a particular room. One conceives of some opaque translucent materials that allows a degree of residual light to enter the room even when the blind is totally closed. The pattern in the pleated blind is such that it allows the  light to percolate with complete folding like that in the curtains. Pleated blinds are meant to allows part of the light to enter the room. For a total dark situation, one can use blackout patterns under the pleated blinds.

Pleated blinds are in use in conservatories where the subtle lighting is designed to bring out the element of privacy. Any place where these conditions are in use can be  safely advised to have pleated blinds.

Recently, there are double pleats instead of the single one . This also works in providing insulation to the room. Large windows can use these when the fabric required will be heavy, and non-creased.

Pleated blinds come in various colors and numerous shades.  There are many window designs. The  treatment is both casual and formal. The appearance is unstated to suit the design. Only it is loud in its functionality.
